ウクライナの平和への祈り～渡邊純一氏らによるチャリティコンサート開催 Prayer for Peace in Ukraine - Charity Concert by Junichi Watanabe and musicians in Yokohama
2022年12月4日、宝積寺テラノホール（横浜市磯子区）で、プロサクソフォン奏者の渡邊純一氏が主催する、音楽と詩を通じてウクライナの平和を願うコンサートが開かれました。約110名の観客が参加し、コンサートの売り上げの一部を日本財団のウクライナ避難民支援基金にご寄付いただきました。
演奏は横浜を拠点に活動する音楽家らによって行われ、日本人の観客に加えウクライナ避難民の方々も招待されました。国を問わず世界中で知られる「赤鼻のトナカイ」などのクリスマスソングを披露し、ウクライナ人と日本人との間に安らぎと和みの時間が生まれました。

また、世界平和の詩を多く残した詩人・坂村真民の詩の朗読や、ウクライナの人々の姿を捉えたドキュメンタリー映像も上映されました。ロシアによるウクライナへの侵攻前の素敵な街並みと人々が映し出された映像と賛美歌が流れ、会場は平和への祈りに包まれました。
コンサートを主催した渡邊純一氏は、ウクライナのゼレンスキー大統領の言葉が開催のきっかけだったと語ります。
「ウクライナ市民の日常が破壊されていく様子を見て強く想い心を痛めました。ゼレンスキー大統領が4 月のグラミー賞の授賞式で寄せた『私たちは自分たちの国で、爆撃で恐ろしい沈黙をもたらしているロシアと戦っています。死の沈黙です。沈黙をみなさんの音楽で満たしてください。沈黙するのではなく、あなたができる方法で私たちをサポートしてください。そうすれば平和が訪れます。』というメッセージを聞いて、開催を決めました。これからも、自分ができる方法でウクライナの方々に寄り添った支援をしていきたいと考えています。」

コンサートに集まった平和を願う人々の想いは、寄付という形で日本国内のウクライナ避難民の方々に届けられます。日本財団は、日本の一人ひとりの力を様々な支援活動として現場に届け、今後もウクライナ避難民の方々をサポートしていきます。

On December 4, 2022, a concert for peace in Ukraine through music and poetry was held at the Hosho-ji Temple Terrano Hall (Isogo-ku, Yokohama), organized by saxophonist Junichi Watanabe. An audience of approximately 110 people attended the concert, and a portion of the proceeds from the concert were donated to The Nippon Foundation’s Ukrainan Evacuees Assistance Fund.
The concert was performed by musicians based in Yokohama, and in addition to the Japanese audience, Ukrainian evacuees were also invited to attend. Christmas songs such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” known all over the world, were performed, creating a moment of peace and harmony between Ukrainians and Japanese.
Also shown were poems by Mamami Sakamura, a poet who wrote many poems for world peace, and a documentary video showing the people of Ukraine. The audience was filled with prayers for peace as hymns played along with images of the lovely streets and people of Ukraine before the Russian invasion to the country.
Junichi Watanabe, the organizer of the concert, said that it was the words of Ukrainian President Zelensky that inspired him to hold the concert.
“It was heartbreaking to see the daily lives of Ukrainian citizens being destroyed. As President Zelensky said at the Grammy Awards ceremony in April, “We are fighting in our own country against Russia, whose bombings are causing a terrible silence. It is the silence of death. Please fill the silence with your music. Do not be silent, but support us in any way you can. Then peace will come.” I decided to hold this event after hearing this message. I would like to continue to support the people of Ukraine in the ways I can.”
The wishes of the people gathered at the concert for peace will be delivered to the Ukraine evacuees in Japan in the form of donations. The Nippon Foundation will continue to support the evacuees by bringing the power of each individual in Japan to the field in the form of various support activities.
